Our Mission
St. John Missionary Baptist Church mission is to embody the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the eternal love of God. Honoring and expanding our heritage of innovative ministry with a commitment to Spiritual and personal growth. Reaching beyond the walls of this sanctuary, to invite people to know God’s unconditional love, which was shown when He sent His only begotten Son into the world to die for our sins. We will engage people where they are in life, assuring them God wants us all to come as we are, and He will make us whole.
Our Beliefs
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, came into the world that he might manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the redeemer of a lost world. To this end, He was born of the Virgin Mary, received a human body and a sinless human nature without ceasing to be God.
(Luke 1:30-55; John 1:1, 18; Hebrews 4:15; Philippians 2:5-11)

Church Covenant
This church receives the Holy Bible as a sufficient basis of doctrine and practice. As a summary of principles for Christian conduct among the member, it adopts the following church covenant…..
Having been led, as we believe, by the Holy Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior; and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father of the Son, and of the Holy spirit, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge and holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel throughout the nations.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotion; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain of sell of and use of, intoxicating beverage; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.
We further watch over in brotherly love; to remember one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and in distress; to cultivate Christian courtesy; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of the Savior to secure it without delay.
We moreover engage that when we remove from this place, we will soon as possibly unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of the covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
